Please read these terms before enrolling in a course, registering for a conference or submitting work to us. By using this website you accept them.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by the Centre for Legal Research and Studies (CLRS), which provides legal education through certificate courses, conferences, workshops and a peer-reviewed journal. Where these terms say "we" or "us", they mean CLRS. Where they say "you", they mean the person using this site.

2. Your account

You need an account to enrol in a course. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what happens under your account. Give us accurate details when you register: your name and institution are printed on any certificate you earn, and we cannot reissue a certificate to correct information you gave us incorrectly.

One account is for one person. Course access is personal to you and may not be shared, resold or transferred.

3. Enrolment and access

When your payment is confirmed you get access to that course for as long as we run this platform. We aim to keep every course available indefinitely, but we may retire a course whose law has been superseded. If we retire a course you are enrolled in, we will tell you first and give you reasonable time to finish it and download your materials.

Course content, including any published start date, may be updated. Where a course is cohort-based, dates are indicative and may move; we will tell you if they do.

4. Assessment and certificates

Certificates are issued on completion, which for a course with a final examination means passing that examination at the stated pass mark. Every certificate carries a verification ID that anyone may check on our verification page.

We may withhold or withdraw a certificate where we find that work submitted was not your own, that an examination was completed dishonestly, or that account access was shared. We will tell you our reasons and give you a chance to respond before we do.

5. Conferences and paper submissions

Registering for a conference secures your place for that event. Submitting an abstract does not guarantee acceptance; abstracts are reviewed, and the decision of the programme committee is final.

You keep the copyright in any abstract or paper you submit. By submitting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish it in conference proceedings and any associated edited volume, and to reproduce it in connection with the conference. You confirm that the work is your own, that it is not plagiarised, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Your use of our material

Course videos, readings, slides and other materials are ours or are licensed to us. You may use them for your own study. You may not copy, publish, upload, resell or otherwise distribute them, and you may not record or re-transmit a live session, without our written permission.

7. What you contribute

Where you post a question, comment or review on the platform, you remain responsible for it. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive or infringing. We may remove any contribution and, in serious cases, suspend the account behind it.

8. Fees and payment

Fees are shown in Indian rupees and are payable in full before access begins. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your card details. Where a discount or coupon is applied, it must be applied at checkout and cannot be added afterwards.

Refunds are dealt with separately in our refund policy.

9. Availability

We work to keep the platform available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Access may be suspended for maintenance, and we are not liable for interruptions outside our reasonable control.

10. Our responsibility

Our courses are educational. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing here creates a lawyer-client relationship. Do not act on course material in a live matter without taking your own advice.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Subject to that, our liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the amount you paid for it.

11. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Where we close an account for a breach, we are not obliged to refund fees already paid.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Material changes will be notified by email or on the site. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh shall have jurisdiction.
